Maude Shifflett McCullough, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Cory Maurer officiating. Entombment will follow in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. McCullough was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia to the late Fred and Minnie Smith Shifflett and was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond McCullough, son, Wendell Crawford, and several siblings. She was the Owner and Operator of McCullough’s Cafe for 37 years. After retirement, she worked for Jeneane’s Café on Mulberry Street, where she was affectionately known as the “pie lady.” Mrs. McCullough was a member of United Community Church. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and enjoyed giving her healing testimonies to anyone who would listen.
Survivors include her children, Ernie (Jeanette) Crawford and Barbara (Jack) McGahee; step children, Joy (Kenny) Day, Jim (Debra) McCollough and Jan McCullough; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several sisters.
