Michael James "Skeet" Powell Jr.

Michael James “Skeet” Powell, Jr., 45, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Strickland and Rev. Anthony Walker officiating. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204 or donor’s favorite charity.

Skeet was born in Thomasville, Georgia to Michael James Powell, Sr. and Debra Lynn Sineath Malone. He graduated from Tattnall Square Academy Class of 1993 and attended Auburn University where he studied Interior Design. Skeet owned Industry Hairworks in NC and studied with Paul Mitchell Hair design School and he worked as a platform artist and educator with Keratin Complex. Skeet was a skilled paralegal with Robert H. Malone, III., and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church where he was an Audio Technician. Skeet was enjoying antiquing and refurbishing furniture for his booth at Payne Mill Village. He loved to travel and watch his nieces and nephews play all sports and cheering them on. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his mother, Debbie (Robert) Malone, III of Macon; father, Michael James (Kim) Powell Sr. of Perry; siblings, Melissa Constable of Pawley’s Island, SC, Robin (Robert) Hutchinson of Byron, Robert (Jessica) Malone, IV of Macon; his much loved and cherished nieces and nephews, Skylar, Sydney, Sophia, Cassie, Connor, Colby, Kate and Finn.
