Michael “Mike” R. Petree, 70, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Marty Braemer officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Mike.
Mike was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Ralph L. and Lillian Mashburn Petree. He graduated from Macon Junior College with an Associate's degree in Art. Mike was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was retired from the Macon Bibb County Fire Department after serving twenty-five years. He was the owner of Petree Sign Company and was a very talented artist and sign designer. Mike was an avid fisherman, saltwater and freshwater, deer hunter, loved the beach, enjoyed cooking, using his grill and smoker. He enjoyed music from the 1960's to the present.
He is survived by his siblings, Dixie Petree of Macon and Randy Petree of Smiths, AL., and “nephew” Ponche.
