Opalee Payne Scott, 97, passed away on July 3, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. The family will greet friends at Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park from 1:00 p.m. to service time.
Opalee was born in Hancock County, TN to the late Lawrence Curtis and Mary Ethel Surber Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Scott. Opalee was the manager of John Neal Grocery in Macon for many years. She was a member of Parkway Assembly of God. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Michael (Shelia) Scott of Dahlonega, GA, grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Purvis, Pamela (Paul) Roop, Phillip Scott, Andrew Scott, and Joshua Scott and four great grandchildren.
