Mrs. Patricia Evans Durden, 78, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Gibbs will officiate. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, 939 Wesleyan Drive, Macon, GA 31210.
Mrs. Durden was born in Rentz, Georgia to the late Felton Franklin and Geneva Williams Evans. She graduated from Miller High School and retired as a bookkeeper from Man’s World clothing store. Mrs. Durden was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Durden, Sr., and a daughter, Linda Durden Collins.
Surviving Mrs. Durden are her daughter, Donna Durden (Wes) Avery; son, Billy (Jodi) Durden, Jr.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Evans, and Randall Evans.
