Paul Eugene Vickers, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, May 30, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. John Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3312 Northside Drive, D250, Macon, 31210.
Mr. Vickers was born in Tampa, Florida to the late James and Jewel Rentz Vickers and was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted and Reagan Vickers. He was a Salesman with Arrow Exterminators and served in the United States Army. Mr. Vickers was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and was an avid sports fan. He was a youth coach for over 20 years with various sports.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Martha Pope Vickers; children, Richard (Teresa) Vickers, Manina (Jimmy) Cofer and Tim (Lee Ann) Vickers; grandchildren, Holden (Kayla) Vickers, James Cofer, Andrew Cofer, Audrey Cofer, Ashlee Vickers, Haleigh Vickers, Brent White and Brandy Adams; six great grandchildren; sister, Marion (Kent) Gaines; brother, Donnie Vickers; sisters-in-law, Betty Vickers and Joyce Powell; and several nieces and nephews.
