

Raymond Edward Tallent, Sr. passed away April 13, 2010. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Talmadge Stovall will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Tallent was born in Knoxville, TN and was retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and served half of his military time in the United States Marine Corp. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving two tours of duty with the Marines. He also served in Vietnam with the bomb disposal team with the Air Force. He was a life member of Al Sihah Temple in Macon, past President of the Greeters Unit, a 32 degree Mason with membership in the Scottish Rite Bodies of Macon. He was a member of Tyrian Lodge #111 of Warner Robins. He was a member of the Chosin Few. Mr. Tallent was a member of the Macon Motor Boat Club (MX878), the AFBNCO Club. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeant Association. He was also a lifetime member of Joseph N. Neel post of the American Legion, the VFW, the Paris Island Museum, and the Marine Corp. Association. Mr. Tallent is preceded In death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tallent; brother, Bob, Claude, Jr, Charles M., and Joe Tallent; sister, Caroline Davis; stepsons, Steve and Jerry Lyles.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Lyles Tallent of Macon; son, Raymond Edward Tallent, Jr. (Carol) of Bradenton, FL; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, David Tallent (Carolyn), Steve Tallent (Shirley), sisters, Janie Daniels (AJ), Dot Lawhorn and Linda Tallent all of Knoxville, TN.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner Temple.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
