Mr. Robert “Bobby” M. Tanner, 61, died Wednesday at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Rev. Herbert Williams will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends at the funeral home for an hour prior to the service.
Mr. Tanner, son of Robert F. Tanner and Christine Corley Carter, was born in Warner Robins, GA. He graduated from Lanier High School and attended Mercer University, pursuing studies in psychology. Mr. Tanner was a 30 year member of NA, having founded the first NA group in Forsyth, GA and was very active in NA’s prison outreach program in Forsyth. He was a member of the Forsyth Golf Club as well.
Surviving Mr. Tanner are his wife of 42 years, Blanch Tanner; daughter Kimberly Elaine (Jonathan) Buchanan; son, Robert Corley (Lesley Anne) Tanner; mother, Christine Corley (Charles) Carter; grandchildren, Arwen Elaine Buchanan, Strider Clayton Buchanan, Bryson Corley Tanner; brothers, Eddie Rowland, Ricky Rowland; mother in law Agnes Humphries; sister in law, Cheryl Vernon; brother in law, Billy Humphries; caretaker, Kathy J. Kidd; and his special pet, LadyBug Tanner.
