

CMSgt (Ret) Robert "Bob" Campbell, Jr., of Tifton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2014 with his family at his side. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Noon in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will meet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt and the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating.
Mr. Campbell was born September 15, 1928 in Luray, Virginia to the late Etta Campbell and Robert Thomas Campbell, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Campbell, brother, Rufus (Buck), and sisters, Cora Hoak and Margaret Bailey. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Bolingbroke GA.
He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving his country for thirty eight years: twenty years of active duty and eighteen years in civil service. While in the Air Force he served in both World War II and the Korean War.
He was actively involved with South Macon Boys Baseball Little League in the 60’s and 70’s, he loved Donna’s ABAC Softball Teams and was known as “Pops” to many as he traveled and kept score for the teams for over fifteen years, and worked with his son at Campbell’s Collision Center, Bolingbroke for more than twenty years.
Mr. Campbell is survived by one brother, Norlan (Sparky) Campbell of Luray, VA and by his children; Robbie McAnally and her husband Rudy McAnally of Perry, GA, Tommy Campbell and his wife Terri Campbell of Bolingbroke, GA, and Donna Campbell of Tifton, GA, four grandchildren; Lane Coffee of Sioux Falls, SD, Kayde Campbell of Bolingbroke, GA, Karli Campbell Buxton and her husband Daniel Buxton of Macon, GA and Kerri Campbell of Bolingbroke, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bob “Pops” Campbell to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) Foundation – Softball Program, ABAC 13, 2802 Moore Highway, Tifton GA 31793.
