Ronnie Tompkins, 62, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Sizemore and Rev. Herschel Sizemore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4770 Sardis Church Road, Macon GA 31216 and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ronnie was born in Savannah, GA to the late Norman E. and Sue J. Tompkins. He was preceded in death by his son, Bubba Tompkins. He was retired from Hercules Chemical Plant. Ronnie was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and a member of the Golden Hearts Sunday School Class. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved building and restoring Classic Cars. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa L. Tompkins of Byron, daughter, Brandie (Colin) O’Neal of Macon, grandchildren, Colin and Caitlin O’Neal of Macon, siblings, Donna (Jimmy) Pettis, Norma (Tommy) Orr, Gary (Beverly) Tompkins, Rusty (Ilene) Tompkins and several nieces and nephews.
