Rose Jones Barnette

Rose Jones Barnette, 89, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Scott Dickison and Rev. Julie W. Long will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Macon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, 505 Coliseum Drive, Macon 31217.

Mrs. Barnette was born in Macon, Georgia the daughter of the late Lillie Parker Jones and John Thomas Jones. She was retired from Macy’s after 19 years as a retail clerk and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, the Crafty Ladies at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, the Macon Motor Boat Club, the Daughters of the Nile, and Pinegate Angel Choir. Mrs. Barnette was the widow of Leonard Hartley Barnette. She loved to garden and was an avid seamstress.

Mrs. Barnette is survived by her daughter, Pamela Barnette Pilcher (Bill) of Macon; son, Lenny Barnette of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Paige Pilcher Alford (Ben) of Macon, Taylor Barnette of Charlotte, NC, Hannah Barnette of Charlotte, NC; great-granddaughter, Anna Kate Alford of Macon; sisters, Fay Jones Nicholas, Jane Jones Cochran, and Betty Jones Carlisle (Harold); brother and sister-in-law, Earle and Evelyn Barnette of Macon; numerous nieces & nephews.
