Roy L. Ussery

Roy Lee Ussery, 82, of Macon, died Thursday, November 4, 2010. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 P.M. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. The family will meet friends after the funeral services in the cemetery. The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Mr. Ussery was born in Telfair County and had lived in Macon most of his life. He was the son of the late E. Rasmus Ussery and the late Anna Hulette Ussery. Mr. Ussery was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served aboard the USS Yellowstone. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 31 years of service. Mr. Ussery was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and a former member of Ft. Hawkins Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Ussery is survived by his wife; Sara Reynolds Ussery of Macon, his daughter and son in law, Kaye and Ray Mosely of Byron, his son and daughter in law; Donald and Beverly Ussery of Hawkinsville, 3 grandsons; Wade Mosely of Warner Robins, Blake Ussery of Atlanta and Adam (Jessica)Ussery of Hawkinsville, a great grandson; Austin Ussery, his brothers; Troy Lee Ussery of Macon, and Benjamin Ussery of Vero Beach, Florida.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of John Wesley Villas and the Oakes at Peake for all the love, care and respect they provided Mr. Ussery and his family.
