Shirley Ann Grant Giles, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Christine Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Macon GA 31201 or American Heart Association, 10 Glenlake Parkway NE, #400, Atlanta GA 30328. Friends and family are invited to the residence after the service to share memories. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5-7 pm @ the Washington Library.
Shirley was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Otis and Eunice Britt Grant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Roy Giles, her two sons, Fred Giles and Charles Kenneth Giles and six siblings. She was retired from the Rocky Creek Library after twenty-three years of service. She was a member of the Baptist faith, and she was a member of the Silver Spurs. Shirley enjoyed reading, camping and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Hood of Macon, son, Ronnie (Felicia) Giles of Macon, daughters-in-laws, Linda Ruth Giles of Greenville, SC, and Nancy Haag Giles of Macon, nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
