Thomas Earl Barfield, 96, of Macon, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Born in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Albert Lewis and Hattie Purvis Barfield, Thomas lived a life defined by hard work, faith, and the love he gave to his family.
As the dedicated owner of Barfield Pest Control, he was a respected member of his community. Thomas was also a master gardener, well-known for his green thumb and for sharing the bountiful vegetables he grew with friends and family. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he cherished his family above all else.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Sara Temples Barfield; his children, Susan (Steve) Register of Newnan, Carol (Dan) Garrett of Newnan and Thomas “Tommy” (Robin) Barfield, of Macon; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Danny) Whidby, Leslie (Bo) Davis, Tyler (AshLee) Register, Danielle Garrett, Campbell Garrett, and Thomas Barfield; and his six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Garrett and Elder Garry Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Two Sparrows Village @ Christian City, 7345 Red Oak Road, Union City, GA 30291.
