

Virginia Bryant Stephens, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd., Macon 31210, or Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Ave., Macon 31204.
Ms. Stephens was born on October 21, 1924, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late Charles Edward Bryant and Eva Ressie Corrinne Bennett Bryant, and was preceded in death by her brother, William Milton Bryant and sister, Elsie May Bryant Poole. She retired in 1972 from civil service with Robins Air Force Base. She also worked for the Naval Ordinance Plant in Macon, War Assets Office in Atlanta, and Fort McPherson in Atlanta. Ms. Stephens was also a Bibb County polling worker and Secretary and Treasurer of the NARFE Chapter 0220. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church in Macon, where she worked in the nursery and Children’s Morning School, and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the XYZ Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Frank) Stephens Kirk, Cathy (Scott) Stephens Judd, and Peggy (Greg) Stephens Henderson, and their father, Jack Stephens; grandchildren, Frank Kirk IV, Jennifer Kirk Price, Tracy Kirk Hebenton, Meredith Kirk Hiscox, Brian Judd, Paul Judd, Mark Judd, Katie Beth Judd, and Jessica Henderson; 20 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
