

Byron, GA—Mr. Wesley Edward “Pete” Williams, 79, peacefully left his earthly home in Byron, GA, to join his Lord, on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Chris Minton will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.
Mr. Williams, son of the late Henry Franklin and Alice Edge Williams, was born in McRae, Georgia. He attended Wheeler County High School, and served our country in the United States Army. Pete worked for 42 years at Keebler as a troubleshooter and ran Williams Hog Farm for over 20 years. He was a member of Lizella Baptist Church and an NRA supporter. Mr. Williams also greatly supported Disabled American Veterans and Paralyzed American Veterans. Pete enjoyed wood working and cabinet making. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Williams, and his daughter, Gail Hambrick.
Surviving Mr. Williams, are his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Williams; step daughter, Sheila Pritchett; grandson, Toby (Heather) White; great grandchildren, Bailey, Michael, and Christian White; brother, Robert (Evelyn) Williams; sisters, Aline Higgins, Ellen Phillips, Elizabeth Chaney, and Geneva (Clint) Powers; several nieces and nephews.
