William "Billy" Copeland Hammond

William “Billy” Copeland Hammond, 69, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan McPherson and Rev. Paul Chapman officiating. Due to COVID illness, the family will not be available to greet people but a visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Billy was born in Tifton, Georgia to the late Copeland H. and Marguerite Spikes Hammond. He served his country in the United States Navy and was retired as a truck driver. Billy enjoyed being with his family and watching TV.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Lemaster Hammond of Lizella; sons, Jocko Hammond of Wichita, TX and Casey Hammond of Lizella; grandchildren, Soulin and Valen Hammond and Ava Hammond; brother, James “Jimmy” (Teresa) Hammond of Lizella; sisters, Brenda (Paul) Chapman of Griffin, Cathy Steele of Byron, and several nieces and nephews.
