William J. “Bill” Davies, Sr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Dublin Memorial Gardens, Dublin GA with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. The family will meet friends on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
He was born in Montgomery, AL on May 23, 1931 to the late Joseph Brown Davies and Onie Fallin Davies. He was preceded in death by his children, Jeffrey Davies, Tommy Chitty and William “Bradley” Davies. He had lived in Macon since 1953 and served in the United States Marine Corps, during World War II. Mr. Davies was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, American Legion and the Moose Club. He was an avid dancer and loved all forms of dancing. Mr. Davies was the former co-owner of Automotive Equipment Specialist and the current co-owner of Davies Repair and Inspection with his wife, Vivian of forty six years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Hobbs Davies of Macon, children, Gloria (Milton) Leak, Lou Anne (Alex) Daniel, Michael (Sharon) Chitty, William Joseph Davies, Jr., eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
