Russell graduated from Willingham High School and then joined the United States Air Force where he spent some of his time in Thailand supporting the Vietnam war. He then came out and started working for Yancy Brothers as a tow motor mechanic and after a couple of years he decided to start driving 18 wheelers over the long road. He stopped that and went to work with his brother installing overhead doors and then he went back to driving 18 wheelers for Averett express until he retired July 25, 2008. Russell suffered a stroke on October 6, 2017 and had to be sent to Coliseum Drive Rehab where he resided till being sent out to Piedmont hospital till, he passed away.
Russell’s dash includes many memories, some good, some not so good. Now he has received his Heavenly body, and joined his Father, Mother, Brother, Sister and his partner in life Janis. He is survived by too many to mention without missing someone. He would like to remind everyone that if they accept Christ as their Savior, he will see you all someday.
