William Gary Reid

A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Butler, GA. Burial will be held in Butler City Cemetery with Rev. Mike Brandenburg and Rev. Don Balltzglier officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 4 S Poplar Street, Butler, GA 31006 or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.

Gary was born in Columbus, GA to the late William Thomas and Mary Welch Reid. He was a graduate of Talbot High School “Class of 1967” and served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Butler. Gary was retired as a Vice President of Citizens State Bank. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Debbie Thomas Reid of Butler, sons; Matthew Reid of Augusta, GA, Christopher Reid of Houston, TX and sisters; Gloria (Johnny) Bazemore of Butler, GA Glenda Cobb of Butler, GA sister-in-law; Ann Landis of Pittsburgh, PA, brother-in-law; George Thomas of Manchester, GA and several nieces and nephews.
