William Lamar Upchurch

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate.

Mr. Upchurch was born to the late Jesse T. Upchurch and Minda Turner Upchurch on December 24, 2017 in McDonough, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Welch Upchurch and a son, William Michael Upchurch. He leaves behinds his care-giver and niece, Lucile Tomberlin; 13 other nieces and nephews and their families.

Growing up in the country, working in the fields and at an early age went to work in McDonough at a garage, then in 1940 went to work for Tri-State Tractor in Atlanta. He was transferred to Macon in 1948 and he worked his way up to service manager. After 42 years with Tri-State Tractor, he retired.
