

Zerelda Sprayberry Cosey, 74, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Cile Mitchell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Macon GA 31201 or American Diabetes Association, 233 Peachtree St., Suite 2225, Atlanta GA 30303.
Mrs. Cosey was born in Newnan, Georgia to the late Charles L. and Gladys McElwaney Sprayberry. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. She was a former member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and was co-founder of and teacher at Mother Goose Kindergarten for fourteen years. She was very creative and enjoyed a wide variety of handmade arts and crafts. Mrs. Cosey enjoyed collecting “Gone With The Wind” memorabilia, bird watching and gardening. Most importantly she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her husband of fifty six years, John M. Cosey of Macon, children, Deborah Cosey Albert of Macon, Lisa Cosey (Ron) Smith of Macon, John Malcolm (Karen) Cosey, Jr. of Macon, five grandchildren, Hannah Albert of Macon, Amber Harris (Ryan) Turner of Byron, Austin Stewart Davis of Macon, Andrew Michael Cosey of Smyrna, Ethan Jacob Cosey of Macon, sister, Pam Sprayberry (Roger) Smith of Hoschton, GA and several nieces and nephews.
