

Barbara J. (Holden) Bibbo, a longtime resident of Marblehead, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at her home. Barbara was born on February 10, 1936 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the only child of the late Frederick and Florence Holden.
Barbara graduated from Cushing Academy where she was a cheerleader and tennis player. She went on to attend Lasell Junior College in Newton, Massachusetts.
Barbara, "Gammy", was totally devoted to her grandchildren, seldom missing any activity in their lives, whether it be in athletics, academic, or social event. Her other love was the theater. In addition to other theater groups, she was very active in the Marblehead Little Theatre for over twenty years in the 60's and 70's. She performed in a variety of acting roles. Her two favorites were the characters of Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls" and Lucy in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown."
She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Pat J. Bibbo. She also leaves a daughter, Cindy A. Currier and her husband Brad of Gloucester, a son, Frederick J. Bibbo, and four grandchildren, Brad Currier Jr. and his wife Amy, Samantha Bibbo, and Madison Bibbo. She is also survived by a brother in-law, Anthony Bibbo, two sister in-laws, Lucy Jordon and Pauline Leonard, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Wednesday, December 18 at 11AM. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association.
