Charles “Chuck” E. Angle, III, age 75, passed away in the company of loved ones on June 1, 2015 after a prolonged battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Kathryn; his two sisters, Elizabeth and Ann; his four sons, Stephen, Colin, Timothy, and Kevin; and six grandchildren.
Born in Rochester, New York, he was an avid sailor, skier, and singer. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard College, and Tuck School of Business. Chuck served in the United States Navy, retiring from active duty as Lieutenant-JG. A longtime resident of Marblehead, Massachusetts, he was a member of the Old North Church Choir for over 35 years, and was president of the 505 sailing class. His career in marketing followed his passions, as he long worked in the boating industry, most recently as the Vice President of North American sales for Flexofold Sailing Propellers.
Chuck loved his workshop and could make most anything out of wood. He had a silly song for any occasion—he could even make camping in the rain seem like fun. From starring in football and track at Exeter to vigorously blocking his grandchildren during family football games at Thanksgiving, he had a competitive spirit and took joy in games. At the heart of it all was his love of family.
A memorial service will be held at the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead on Thursday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chuck’s name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org/go/donate) or to the Old North Church Memorial Fund, 8 Stacey Street, Marblehead, MA 01945. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
