MARBLEHEAD/SWAMPSCOTT - Charlotte Rebecca Robinson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, in Swampscott, Massachusetts, at the age of 92. Born on October 13, 1932, in Milford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Charlotte and John Blodgett.
Becky attended Becker College, where she earned an associate's degree, beginning a life marked by dedication to her community and family. She married Frederick Illingworth Robinson and lived the majority of their 63 years together at what is now the Robinson Farm Conservation land on Abbot Street. She was a devoted staff member and volunteer at the YMCA, where Becky remains in spirit with the front desk area named in her honor. Her presence left a lasting impact on the lives she touched, bringing kindness, support, and compassion to her community. She was also an active, longstanding member of the First Church of Swampscott, where she found both friendship and faith and served on numerous committees and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred; her son, Frederick Illingworth Robinson, Jr.; her stepdaughter, Deborah A. Senig; and her brother, Norman Blodgett. Becky is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Robinson, and her loving grandchildren: Brian Jones and his children, Scarlett and Sterling; Lauren Sotomayor and her husband Elvin and their children, Eden and Archer; Frederick Brett Robinson and his wife Sharon and their son, Frederick Noah; Meghan Hughes and her husband Jerry and their children, JR, Hayden, Jack, and Holt; and Emily Posey and her husband Denorrise and their children, Parker, Hudson, and Lennon. Her family will carry forward her legacy of kindness, love, and devotion.
In addition to her deep love for her family and community, Becky was a passionate gardener and loved tending to plants and flowers with her friends at the Marblehead Garden Club, where she found joy in nature’s beauty. The past decade has found Becky surrounded by an amazing team of friends, caregivers, and most recently, her community at the Bertram House of Swampscott. Her gentle presence, dedication to her community, and passion for life will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
