

(DiCandio) Mammola, passed away May 1, 2020 following a battle with COVID-19 at the age of 84.
Patrick was born on March 16, 1936 in Somerville, Massachusetts, and was one of eight children. He
attended Sacred Heart High School in East Cambridge, Massachusetts where he was an avid basketball
player. He also worked for the family business installing television antennas. Patrick attended classes at
Northeastern University.
Mr. Mammola was a successful insurance agent, starting his insurance career at the age of 18, selling
accident policies door-to-door with Hearthstone Insurance Company. Patrick also won many awards as a
top-performing agent. Patrick continued his career with numerous companies as an insurance broker,
retiring at age 74. Around that time, he began to develop dementia, which eventually progressed into
Alzheimer’s disease.
His favorite pastime was music and dancing, joining the Arthur Murray teachers in the mid-to-late 1950s.
Moseley’s in Dedham, Massachusetts was where Patrick met his future wife Carol. Together, they taught
dance classes in the Boston area for many years. Patrick continued to dance into his late 70’s.
Patrick is survived by his longtime companion Ann-Margret Michaels, former wife (and mother of his son)
Carol (Santino) Mammola, his beloved son Robert (“Robbie”) Mammola, and his brothers; Paul, John, sister
Lillian Sousa and many nieces and nephews. Patrick was predeceased by Rosetta Duddy, Saverio, Vincent,
and Robert.
Due to the health crisis and government restrictions, a celebration of life will be had once we are able to
