

MARBLEHEAD/LYNN- Dexter Beattie, age 78, died peacefully surrounded by his family, after a life long infectious sense of humor that touched all those that knew him. Son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Beattie. Dexter graduated from Marblehead High School in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He attended North Shore Community College, majored in Criminal Justice and was a police officer in Beverly and most recently worked at Honda North part's department in Danvers.
Dexter is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Maura Beattie, a son Dexter and his wife Amanda of Beverly, son Douglas of Peabody, sister Martha Nicholson and her husband Don, of Severna Park, MD, three grandchildren Elizabeth-Jade, Alana and Colin Beattie of Beverly, two nieces, Debbie Nicholson of Cambridge and Kathy Alton of Annapolis, MD.
Dexter enjoyed traveling throughout New England, camping, fishing, skiing, mountain climbing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He traveled extensively with his wife for many years vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
Funeral services will be private under the direction of Eustis & Cornell Marblehead.Dexter Steere Beattie, age 78 passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
