SWAMPSCOTT, MA – Dorothy “Sue” (Barnosky) Carr, age 95, of Swampscott, MA, formerly a longtime resident of Garden City, New York, and Saltaire, Fire Island, New York, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Joel L. Carr with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage.
She was the loving mother of Katherine Phyfer and her husband, David of Geneva, IL , Brooks Carr and his wife, Heather of Swampscott, MA, and the late Simon Carr and the late Jay Carr; the cherished grandmother of Hugh, Sara and Will Phyfer, Ian, Caroline, Andrew, Meagan, Charlotte, Jane, and Kat Carr; and the former mother-in-law of Beckie Marquigny and Bernadette Fortune.
Sue worked as model in and around New York City as young woman. She later settled in Garden City to raise her family.
Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s memory to the American Cancer Society via cancer.org.
