Elisha “Lane” Parker, III, of Marblehead, passed away on April 27, 2016 from cancer at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his beloved wife and partner of 42 years, Helene (Michaud) Parker by his side.
A native of Yeadon, PA, Lane graduated from Drexel University in PA in 1959. It was his love of the ocean, nourished as a child at Avalon, New Jersey, where the family summered, that brought Lane to Marblehead in the mid-sixties as New England Regional District Manger for Philadelphia Gear Corp. Lane later went on to establish his own company as a manufacturer’s representative selling heavy manufacturing equipment throughout New England.
Lane loved the ocean, and he and Helene spent many happy years boating in Marblehead, where they were long time members of the Boston Yacht Club. The Parkers spent 16 winters in Naples, Florida. Lane also was an avid fisherman and enjoyed reading, history, gardening, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Lane leaves behind his sisters, Dotty and her husband Marshall Sansbury of Fort Worth, Texas, and Betty Brewer of Strongsville, Ohio; his in-laws, Claudette and Craig Baxter of Methuen, MA, Janet and Robert Malia of Haverhill, MA, and Henry and Mary Michaud of Peru, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
At Lane’s request, no service will be held and burial will be private at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, it can be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78, Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
