

Janice was born in Boston, MA on Nov.2nd, 1926. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha (Loveland) Walker and William E. Walker. She was a lifelong resident of West Medford, MA, where she graduated from Medford High School. She then went on to graduate from Wellesley College, Class of 1947.
Janice taught Latin and English at the Buckingham School in Cambridge, MA. For the next 35 years
she pursued a career at Northeastern University, where she held the position of Registrar of the Graduate
School of Engineering, and later became the Assistant Dean and Director of the Bouve College, within
Northeastern University. She retired from the university in 1991.
In her younger years, Janice traveled extensively. She later developed an interest in gardening, and found
great pleasure in it. She particularly enjoyed her garden in Marblehead, where she spent her summers
for most of her life.
Reading was always an important part of Janice's life. She was never without a good book and, after
her retirement, volunteered at the Medford Public Library.
Surviving Janice are her brothers, William E. Walker Jr. (Bill), Richard B. Walker (Dick) and sister-in-law
Nancy Walker. Her nieces, Amy Martin, Stephanie Jennings and Allison Chader were cherished by Janice. They, and their families, were a constant source of interest to her. She also loved hearing about the activities of her grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
