Wife of the late Thomas Adams, she leaves behind her sons, Thomas J. Adams, James Adams, and daughter, Lauren James of Marblehead. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Tina Rhodes and husband Colin, Frank James and wife Amie, Tammie James, and 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan Rhodes, Peter Rhodes, and Laurelle Kay James all of Marblehead.
Many people will remember her from her 20 years of employment at the Swampscott Marshall’s, where she would light up their day with her engaging personality and helpful advice. She also served as a volunteer usher at the North Shore Music Theater, adding a bit to the show itself. Katherine was also a home health aide for many years through the Marblehead Visiting Nurses Association and was loved by all she cared for.
Playing guitar, piano and singing on local radio in the 40's rounded her musical side. Belly dancing was also a passion, which she was not shy to perform even at 87. In the Greek tradition, as a great cook, you never left Kay’s home hungry. With her selfless way, wit, and great love for all, she will be sorely missed. S’agapo Yiayia!
