

She was born April 27, 1923 in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Aurelio and Rosina DiFelice. Theresa was raised in Lynn where she graduated Valedictorian of Lynn English High School in 1941.
After high school she worked for General Electric. She married Ralph A. Colantuno in September 1944 and they were married for 47 years until his passing in 1991. Theresa moved to Marblehead with her husband and remained a resident of Marblehead for 57 years until moving to Grosvenor Park in Salem in 2011. In Marblehead, she raised her son and daughter, served as secretary for the Marblehead Little League in the mid 60s, was one of the first volunteer workers at the New England Aquarium and a former member of the Boston Yacht Club. Because Theresa's children remained in Marblehead, she was blessed with a life filled with family. Her greatest happiness and contentment came in knowing that her children and grandchildren were safe and secure.
Theresa leaves behind a daughter, Janis Colantuno Atkins of Marblehead; a son, Ralph A. Colantuno, Jr. of Marblehead and his wife Pookie; granddaughter Kimberly Piver of Marblehead and her husband Todd, grandson Timothy Atkins of Amherst, N.H. and his wife Karen; granddaughters Cailey Colantuno of South Boston and Courtney Colantuno of Marblehead; and three great grandchildren: Julia Piver, Andrew Piver and Laura Atkins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ralph A. Colantuno. Theresa is a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
An intimate service will be held to honor Theresa on Monday, November 5 at 11AM at the Eustis & Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead. Interment to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Visitation will begin at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
