I was sorry and shocked to hear of Connie's death.  She will have a special place in our hearts for helping Charlie with Bingo on Monday Game Days at the Park District as well as blessing us with her delicious cookies.  Sorry we could not attend any of the services in order to offer our condolences in person.  She will be greatly missed by many!  Charlie & Kathy Bonk

I met Connie about a year ago when I started going to game day at the Park Dist. She was so sweet and made me feel welcome.  I have never met anyone like her in my life. She was a geninue kind, loving and thoughtful lady. I was blessed to know her for as long as I did. I wish it could of been much longer.

Connie has been a friend and acquaintance since we were in first grade together.  Knowing her all these years has given me a tremendous appreciation for her gentle spirit and her willingness to help out when needed.  She taught both of my sons in Sunday School, and they remember her fondly.  This is such a tragedy for the family, and my heart goes out to all of them.

Ms. Sandman was a wonderful teacher.  My daughter was in her first grade class.  I also had the privilege to be a room mom that year so I was able to come into the classroom and help out once a month.  She was great to all the kids and loved what she did.  She will always be remembered.

So sad to hear of Connie's passing.  My daughter called and said that she had seen it.  I had not been  in contact with  Connie for some time and lost track of her.  I worked at Hawthorn School and was in charge of hiring  substitutes.  Connie was the first one I would call.  The kids loved her and she loved the kids.  Later I moved to Wonder Lake and lo and behold she was one of my grandchildren's teacher.  What a gift to the world Connie was.  Peace be with you my dear lady.

Such a wonderful lady! My son Steven had the pleasure of having Miss Sandman as his teacher. He loved her and looked forward to seeing her every day. She was a teacher that every child wished for and every parent prayed for. I still have the lovely notes she sent home with him in his school album. Heaven is blessed to have her and God surely blessed the path of all who crossed her path.

I just wanted to write a simple remembrance of such a special person, relative, and friend.  As a professor and a teacher, there is no greater joy than seeing yourself in the lives of your students.  Connie was a beloved teacher, a gentle guide to the young, and one of the most humble and sweet people that I have ever had the privilege to know.  The world has lost such a vision of light, a beacon of benevolence, that all of us would do well to imitate her example, and make the world a much better place.  "Connie, I do not say to you goodbye, for there is no end to life beyond the sunset, but, merely 'adieu,' until we meet again!"

I have had the pleasure of being a friend and colleague of Connie Sandman since 1994 when I started teaching at Harrison School. She has been so kind and generous to my family as she has been involved in our life in so many ways.  Connie was a guest at our wedding, at my children's baptism and birthday parties and always visited during the summer bringing her chocolate chip cookies.  Connie you will always be loved and missed by the Chupich Family.  Jason, Lisa, Jacob and Julia.

I worked with Connie at Harrison school and found her to be a dedicated, compassionate teacher.  Generations of students passed through her classroom and owe her a big thank you for all the time and energy she put into her profession.

Miss Sandman was not only my first grade teacher but part of my life growing up. She will be greatly missed by all of her "kids"

Miss Sandman was one of nicest teachers, always put such passion into teaching and always took time to really get to know her students and always encouraged us to go for our dreams.

What a wonderful lady. My youngest child Steven had her as his teacher,he loved her and couldn't wait for school each morning. She was the kind of teacher every child wants and every parent prays for. I still have notes in Stevens school album with lovely notes sent home from her. Heaven is happy to receive her and God blessed everyone in Miss Sandmans path.

So sorry to hear about Ms. Sandman.  She was an awesome teacher for my sons and will be missed.  My prayers are with your family.

Connie will be missed by many people. I had the pleasure of working with Connie at Harrison school where I was a bus driver I always imagine her being the coolest first grade teacher and wished I had one like her too when I went to school. rest in peace Connie Godspeed
