Crystalyn "Chris" Wilcox

She was born March 30, 1923 in Marengo to George and Emma (Rahn) Hauschildt. On June 6, 1944 she married Allan Wilcox.

Chris was a lifelong resident of Marengo. She was a bookkeeper at Vincent Beauty Supply for 25 years and the McHenry County Township clerk for over 20 years. She was active in both the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries. Chris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the piano. Her greatest gift was the loving care she gave to her family and friends. Her kindness touched so many lives.

She is survived by her sons, John (Therese) Wilcox and Paul Wilcox; her grandchildren, Brittany (Joseph) Competello, Angela (Chad) Swanson, Katy (Taylor) Wieczorek, and Michele (Brad Boyer) Wilcox; her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Olivia Swanson; and many loving extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan; and her two brothers, George and David Hauschildt.

A memorial visitation will be from 10 to 11am on Saturday, May 2 at Zion Lutheran Church, 408 Jackson St., Marengo. The memorial service will be at 11am.
