Mr. Charles was a great person that brought lots of life and laughter to the MCHS. He had a good heart and I was lucky to have known him. I was one of his students and also part of the computer club that he ran after school. Even though it has been 5 years since his death I still think about how awesome of a person he was and how he is missed by the community.

Mr. Charles was like a father to me. He brightened my day when I was feeling down. He never failed to make me laugh, and smile. I'm honored that his birthday is only 3 days after mine, I can celebrate for the both of us. Rest in paradise my friend, I hope to see you there some day. -Andrew

Jim was one of those rare people you meet in life that brings his party where ever he goes.  Always positive, never a bad thing to say, he left a wake of sunshine.  A pleasure to be around and never a dull moment.  He never seemed to want or need much but always gave of himself and shared his many talents with others.  A true 'good' example.  The earth could use more like him.  He'll be greatly missed.

Uncle Jim, 
you were always so welcoming, had such a great heart, and made everyone feel like part of your family. As a close friend to Erin, and the rest of the Sibigtroth family, I have grown to know you quite well and I always thought of you as my uncle as well. You will be dearly missed but we will all see you again someday! Watch out for jumping fish; they really sneak up on ya!

I am so sorry for your loss, Mr.Charles was a great part of MCMS, my son just loved him, he was great with all the kids, and he will truely be missed. Your family is in our prayers.

Mr. Charles was a great man, he was a one of a kind man, he is irreplaceable. He was my teacher from 5th grade all the way to 8th grade. But, he was more of a friend to me than he was a teacher. I will always remember him. I will also always miss his great big smile and his wonderful hugs!

Jim Charles will be missed for all of his generosity to other people.  On any given day, he might stop by my science class to give me a science article or to ask me if I heard about this new discovery.  He would go out of his way to help if he could. That's who he was.

I am so very sorry to hear about Jim,  he was so creative, so easy going. I loved hearing him play the banjo and sing, I was in aw of his talents. I will always remember his chuckle.

Jim was always willing to help figure out why a science experiment hadn't worked and help me make it work (we called the "Mythbusters approach"). He contributed so much to the community of the classroom. It was a pleasure to work with him for the three years we were together.

Please accept my condolences regarding Jim's passing.  I graduated from Cary-Grove H.S. the same year as he did and I remember his spunk!!

I did not really know Jim.  We went to high school together.  I admired him because he stood up for his convictions.  I was glad to become acquainted with him on Facebook for the last several months.  May God bless his family and friends.

We are deeply saddened and sorry for the loss of Jim.  His pleasant personality and easy going disposition made him a pleasure to be with and the world is a lesser place without him.  1 Corinthians 16:14 says, "Let all that you do be done with love."  
Jim approached life this way, from his love of music and family, to other things in his life.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

My heart goes out to Jim's family and his close friend Bruce Kort. The sun will not shine as bright in this world. I will miss you Jim.

It has been my pleasure to work with Jim in the Marengo school district.  Jim was always kind and pleasant.  He demonstrated an extremely positive attitude. I will miss working with him.

It is with all my heart that I tell you what a wonderful man Jim was...I have been long gone from the school system, but he was one of the few people that made a difference in my time there...God be with his close friends and family - you are in my thoughts and prayers.
