John Jennings

He was born August 19, 1948 in Chicago to John and Josephine (Kohler) Jennings Sr. John was a surveyor and owned Jennings Surveying for almost 40 years. He was extremely active in the Boy Scouts at the local troop level and council level. He would help them in any way he could and always enjoyed taking part in trips. John loved life and was very social, he enjoyed his annual Doghouse Picnic he held and just having people over for a good time.

John is survived by his sons, John M. (Sandy), Kevin, and Michael (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Kaje, Caleb, Cullen, Charlie, Savannah, Denon, and Bradley; his companion in life, Susann Jones; and his nephew, Tim (Lulu) Smolek.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eileen (Greg) Smolek.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9pm on Friday, May 8 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. The funeral service will be at 10:30am on Saturday, May 9 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later time.
