

Karol Derfus, 79, of Round Lake, IL passed away at home on February 14, 2024. She was born on August 10, 1944 in Marion, IN to the late Winston and Mary Small. She married Duane Derfus in Gas City, IN on April 1, 1967, April Fool's Day.
Karol dedicated many years as a UAW member and was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge 1329. During their marriage, she could always be found fishing with Duane. She loved to play bingo, pull tabs, slot machines and spend time with her cat Sunny. Karol had a bright personality and a great sense of humor.
Karol is survived by her two sons Mike (Kathy) Derfus of Kenosha, WI, and Duane (Susie) Derfus Jr. of West Virginia; her two daughters Melissa (Bill) Keclik of Woodstock, IL, and Vivian (Joe Sr.) Janke of Ingleside, IL; her five grandchildren Megan (Allen Thompson) Carter, Heather Dunivan, Theresa Janke (Wade) Lively, and Joe (Ashley) Janke Jr.; her eight great-grandchildren John (11) and Abigail (9) Carter, Austen (16) and Aubrey (12) Grisham, Arron (1) Dunivan, John (5), Mia (3) and Isabella (2) Janke. She is also survived by her sister Judy (Don) Elyea of St. Cloud, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one grandchild Timmy Swanson.
Karol loved her family with all her heart.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152. Interment to follow at Harmony Cemetery.
