
He was born June 28, 1927 in Oak Park to John and Hazel (Hunter) Latimer. He served in the United States Navy during the WWII era. On April 19, 1953 he married Carol “Joyce” Latimer in Earlville.
Prior to working at Arnold Engineering Ken was a high school math teacher at Marengo High School for a short period. He retired from Arnold Engineering with over 30 years of service. He was active in the ASTM. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, and playing golf. He was Mr. Fix-it around the house, made his own apple cider, and was a winemaker. He liked to read and do crosswords. He was also active as an elder at Zion Lutheran Church but most of all Ken was a family man.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (John) Dudek, Janice (Pete) Tonyan, Nancy (Mike) Blair, Phyllis (Gerry) Cuomo, Suzanne Latimer, and Karen (Jeff) Hruska; six grandsons; six granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Joan (Coleman) Kukuk.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Friday, August 16 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo. The service will be at 11am on Saturday, August 17 at the church.
Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.
