Michael A. Martins, 54, passed away unexpectedly on November 29th, 2024. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Luniewcz-Martins, son Nolan Martins, stepchildren, Danielle Luniewicz, Zachary Roa (Brandon), Jonah Martins and Cole Martins, grandchildren Ezra and Mateo Hernandez, mother Twyla Martins-McLaughlin and stepfather Sean McLaughlin, John Russell Martins, Vicky Easley (Jim), David Martins, Edward Martins (Ruth Cabler Larson), Teresa Kieffer (Dave), Benton Martins (Alice) and Quenton Martins (Jamie), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Kristen Martins, grandparents Jack and Beverly Martins, sister Marietta Sievert, and nephew Wyatt Kieffer.
After graduating from Lafayette High School in Lexington Kentucky, Mike attended Lexington Community College and pursued a successful career in the trades earning many certifications.
The simple things in life are what Mike enjoyed the most; spending time with family and good friends, watching his son’s baseball games, going to lodge, hunting trips with his brothers, riding the Harley through Deals Gap with his motorcycle crew and closer to home rides with his son Nolan sitting shotgun in the Ural, huge bonfires and cookouts, spending time in the "man cave"(aka Garage), and hosting the occasional card game…most people that attended these games are familiar with the phrase “Mike's house, Mike's rules”.
Mike had an extremely generous heart, was always there to lend a hand and an encouraging word. He will be deeply and forever missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's name to the Land Conservancy of McHenry County, P.O. Box 352, Woodstock, IL 60098.
