Paul E. Page was born in Palmyra, MO on August 17, 1928 to Oren and Edna (Lucke) Page. Paul married Bernice Davis on March 19, 1949 in Quincy, IL. He was the loving father of Steven (Cindy) and Sheila (Rick). He was the proud grandfather of Shane and Celeste. He was the dear brother of Orville, Royce (Pete) and Ronald.
He retired from American Farm Bureau Service Company as a product engineer after 10 years. He previously worked for Moorman Manufacturing Company as a district sales manager for 17 years. Before his time there, he was self-employed at service station and garage auto and truck repair in Quincy, IL. At age 17, he served his Country in the US Navy as a Fireman First Class on a sea going tug in the Aleutian Islands in the Bering Sea earning the World War II victory medal.
At age 24 he served in the US Army as a Regimental Maintenance Sargent in the 2nd Infantry division in Korea for 15 months, earning the Korea Service Ribbon with two bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
Paul served as President of Riley School Board and served as Riley Township Trustee. He served as election judge in Riley Precinct 1. He served as President of B.E.H. Lake and Homeowners Association for 20 years.
His hobbies included bowling, billiards, horseshoes, gardening, boating, golfing, and playing ball.
Visitation will be from 10am to Noon on Saturday, August 6 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. The service will follow at Noon.
Interment will be in Riley Township Cemetery.
Following the burial, a meal will be held at the VFW Post 1461, 1310 W. Lincoln Ave., Belvidere.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marengo Rescue Squad or the VFW in Belvidere.
