Richard J. Magnani

He was born October 20, 1936 in Dalzell, IL to Dominic “Bingo” and Lena (Giacometti) Magnani. In August of 1958 he married Rose Gualandri, she preceded him in death in 1991. On July 31, 1993 he married Louise Burch in Oxford, WI.

He was a resident of Marengo and a Marengo Community High School coach, teacher, and administrator for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spent time as a golf coach. He was also an avid mechanical tinkerer.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; his sons, Brad (Karen) Magnani and Mark (Paul Valentino) Magnani; his step-children, Christine (Marc) Wolfe and Bob (Mary Ann) Sherwood; his grandchildren, Samantha, Michelle, Cecilia, Hayden, Mackenzie, Delaney, Madlen, Gracie, Angela, and Andrea; and his siblings, Robert Magnani and Mary Jane Magnani Gorski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Rose.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3pm on Sunday, April 22, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. A service will be at 3pm.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to establish a memorial with Marengo Community High School.
