Richard (Rick) J. Ogle was found passed away, from natural causes, in his home on November 3, 2023 at the age of 72. He was born on February 5, 1951 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL to the late George & Kathryn (Kohler) Ogle. He graduated from Wauconda High School in 1969, and also married his ex-wife/mother of his children, Jeanne (Cooper) Smith, in the same year.
Rick moved to Hebron in the mid to late 1970's and remained in Hebron for the rest of his life. As a 3rd shift factory worker, he always said "Hebron was a great town for sleeping!" He was mostly a recluse but he did enjoy seeing his children, catching a baseball game, playing his guitar, maybe shooting a game of pool, but mostly drinking wine at home! He was a fan of the Chicago White Sox, but he would go with his kids up to Milwaukee to see whoever the Brewers were playing. In recent years, he was a big fan of the minor league team Beloit Snappers, and tried to go see a couple games a year.
Rick is survived by his children Vanessa (Jeremy Adams) Ogle of Wauconda, IL, Zachary (Amy) Ogle of Marengo, IL, and Alisha (Joe) Stoddard of Marengo, IL; his siblings Sharon French of Allen, Texas, Larry (Kate) Ogle of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Jerry (Veronica) Ogle of Highland Park, IL; his grandchildren Shannon, Stephanie, Samantha, Savannah & Jeremy Jr. "JJ" Adams, and Erik Ogle; his great-grandchildren Ethan, Amber and Aubrey; and his former wife Jeanne (Cooper) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
