To all of Jay's family, I have fond memories of Jay in the old SBU days. He was one of the "old school" guys who I learned much from. I enjoyed the conversations we had at the "smoker's side" of the office and I took away much more than I could ever give back from my time knowing Jay. Sorry, that I was out of town when his passing was announced but I assure you that he has been in my prayers.

My sincere condolences to Linda and the entire Canedy family, both immediate and extended. I will always have fond memories of Jay. May he rest in peace.

I will always remember working w/you in Central Dist, 80's riots and oh those choir practices. UM games, tailgate parties and watching Sean, Damon & Danielle grow up before our eyes. "Yo Sis" how could we forget July4th get togethers. What memories.You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We love you Ramon & Moe

I had the pleasure of working with Jay at the Intracoastal Station, he was a thoughtful, kind man, Jay will missed by us all. My thoughts and prayers are with the Canedy family.

I worked with Jay when he first started out as a Police Officer.
This Man always had a smile of his face even when facing the most dangerous challenges. His composure under pressure was remarkable. It was a pleasure knowing this Man. I am deeply saddened at his passing. My condolences to his family who surely miss him greatly.

We had the HONOR of working with Jay at Intracoastal District. Jay was an excellent Police Officer and spectacular human being. We loved his sense of humor and sarcasm. We learned from him each time we were on a call with him.
We are so, so sad to learn of his passing. He will always be in our hearts. His family is in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Canedy family in this time of sorrow. I too had the pleasure of working with Jay at Intracoastal. A true gentleman and a cop's cop.  R.I.P my friend.

Jay and I went through the same academy class BLE21.Great guy had a lot of fun.Linda & family you have my sincerest condolences.
