Kirk Jonathan Colwell, 63, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 26. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 22nd at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio. Kirk was born in Toledo to Ron and Anne (Kirkham) Colwell on May 17, 1953. He attended Ottawa Hills High School where he excelled in football but knee injuries kept him from pursuing his passion further. He graduated from Hiram College with a degree in English Literature in 1976. A fitting major because Kirk was an avid reader who could never turn away a military, baseball, or political history book. Kirk loved to watch ice hockey, to travel and, when time allowed, to fish, something his father and grandfathers taught him at a young age. Kirk is survived by his loving children K.C. (Angela) Colwell and Kate (Kent) Holdcroft, his brothers Chris (Debbie) Colwell and Craig (Kathy) Colwell, his sister Leslie (Jim) Stankey, and grandsons Logan and William Holdcroft.
