 I remember meeting your mother and her siblings when I was little girl when they arrived in Danbury, CT.  My Mother, Mary (Tomaino) Porchia's sister Theresa married Luigi Butera.  I also remember  being able to go to her wedding when she married Santo Perri and I remember my Mother taking me with her to visit your lovely Mother when she lived on Lake Ave. and then  seeing you little children.  Your Mother was a very nice lady and I am sorry about her passing.  God Rest Her Soul and may happy memories bring peace and harmony to minds and hearts.

Dear Alex, Sandy, Diana, & family,

We were sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved mother.  What a delight it was to be in her company. Your photo tribute is beautiful. Even amid her battle, she still smiled! As I reflect, I can vividly remember a particular trip to Fl. in the 80's with my family, and your parents opening their home to “the other Butera’s” … lol.  All we did was laugh and eat! 
The best memory of this trip was when my dad was pulled over for speeding on I-95.  Like a bullet, your mom jumped out of the car to "talk" to the polizia. I remember her saying…” don’t worry, I’ll make things nice-a-nice”. Comical at best, whatever your mom said to the officer worked, and like magic, poof, he was gone. I am quite sure the officer left after realizing he was dealing with a bunch of crazy Italians!  There are many other memories that I could list, but I will always remember her gentle spirit, smile and the warmth of her hospitality, especially when we lived in Fla. Her words "Don't worry honey...it’s okay” is lasting enough. May God richly bless you all during this time.

Our condolences to the family from Manuel and Maria Marianne as we called her will be missed but not forgotten we share many good talks with her Marianne was the first to greet us when we moved in six years ago we spent many mornings over her house for coffee and pastries we sat  many times on her front porch talking for hours and at times I will have to go chase cricket because she got loose down the road and at time she would bake a cake  and bring it over with a smile oh how I enjoy those days she would always tell me maria take care of Manuel he’s a good man yes she was a good neighbor and most of all a great friend to talk to will be missed by us peace be with you Marianne in the grace of God

After seeing the wonderful tribute with all the photos and videos, you can see Mariangela really lived her life to the fullest, what a beautiful soul. May God give you peace and comfort. To know Mariangela once is to know her for a lifetime. Her presence always lingers, her voice always echoes, her sun always shines - all of which are great comforts for the days we will have to stretch a little further to feel her warmth. She is the authenticity we all chase and the peace we all hope to find. Knowing her is a gift; her memory, a blessing.

To a Wonder full Family it is with great emotion that I received this unexpected news !
I was just mentionning this week-end that We had not heard from anyone since I had called Marie on her birthday and also the correspondance at Christmas as suggested by Diana ?
We had heard that She was sick last fall but nothing after.
Now She will be with our dear friend Santo and I think She had a Wonder full life with all of You.

Bill and I were so very sorry to hear about your mom's passing.  I have so  many found memories of Mariangela at the Lake Avenue house and the few times we saw her when you all moved to Florida.  Always so warm and welcoming, always trying to feed you and never taking no for an answer, mangia eat eat!!  And a smile that would light up the room.   She was the ultimate description of selfless.  I remember how she took such good care of your grandmother and your Dad and all of you. Thinking of you with love.  Cherish all your precious memories to keep her close in your hearts forever. Our heartfelt condolences to cousins Alex, Sandra, Diana and your families.  We were so saddened to hear of your mom's passing, may she rest in peace.  Many fond memories of Mariangela, while growing up with you all in Danbury CT, way back in the day...I will never forget everything she did for us when we first came to this country, welcoming us into her home until we were able to get settled and on our feet.  There are many great memories, too numerous to mention...

Our memories go back to 1974 in CT, when I first met Mariangela 😊
She was always so hospitable and welcomed me into her home. Always making me eat something! Wouldn’t take no for an answer 😂
She was like my 2nd Mom, and a great friend to Raili since 2001 here in Margate FL
Mariangela always was willing to help, without us even asking! Her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren! All who I am so very fond of- forever friends! And Mariangela will be remembered always-she’s our guardian Angel 👼 ok
