Born on November 14, 1948 in Morristown, TN to Estel and Jaunita Standifer. She was raised with her sister Jo Ann Powell. Betty spent most of her young life in Morristown, TN and later moved to Atlanta in the late 60’s where she graduated from Bauder College and Finishing School with a modeling degree.
A hard worker, Betty began working in Department Stores, modeling, and then moved into apartment leasing. She would later go on to earn her real estate license. She met Wyndell Black, the love of her life, in 1980. They married in 1982 surrounded by family and loved ones.
Betty had a deep love of the world and would often tell stories of her global travels with Wyndell. She was a “firecracker,” and could quip a one lined retort faster than you could snap your fingers.
Betty loved her family. She is preceded in death by her mother Juanita Standifer Reinhardt, father Estel Standifer, stepfather Calvin Reinhardt, sister Jo Ann Powell, and her best friend Gayle (her King Charles Cavalier Poodle mix). She is survived by her husband Wyndell Black, and her step children Wendy Maxwell, Mendy White, and Cendy Black. Her six grandchildren. Her five great grandchildren. As well as by her beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews who still reside in Tennessee.
The family will receive visitors on March 13th, 2025 at 1:30-3:30 PM at the Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Historic Marietta Chapel, 180 Church St. NE Marietta, GA 30060.
