Charles Robert Rice, 88, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center, Rome GA. He leaves his wife of 68 years, Kathryn Holbrook Rice, twin sons Charles Ronald Rice of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and Robert Donald Rice of Rome, GA. Born and raised in Marietta, GA, the son of Pierce V. Sr. and Mildred Laseter Rice. He was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Pierce V. Rice, Jr. and one sister, Kathy Rice. He leaves one sister, Mary R. Mourfield of Macon, GA, and one brother, David Rice of Marietta, GA, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He retired from Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, GA in 1991.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 24 at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Resurrection, in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home prior to the graveside service on Saturday.
