A funeral service celebrating his life will be held for Chris on Friday, August 18, 2017 at noon at the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral home in Marietta.
Chris was born on September 23, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee where he lived until he married Sondra in 1990 and moved to Marietta. He was an enthusiastic cook, loved Memphis barbecue, and was a big fan of the outdoors, especially the Georgia State Park system. He was most happy when spending time with his family hiking and exploring the parks and finding new trails and waterfalls in the Georgia mountains. One of his favorite hobbies was photography, particularly outdoor photography, and the state parks provided an endless supply of subjects for him. He also loved photographing the beauty of the beach at his favorite vacation spot in Destin, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if you would like to donate to the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites in memory of Chris.
