

Howard was born August 25, 1937, in Smyrna, GA to Robert and Catherine Gunn.
Howard was a 1956 Campbell High Graduate and a member of Da Boys Of Campbell.
Howard attended GA Tech and retired as a Civil Engineer from Fulton County Government.
Howard loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with friends and relatives.
He loved sports and coached baseball and football in the Nickajack Youth Association, Wallace and Ward Park for numerous years. After retiring he became very active coaching and playing in Smyrna Senior Softball at Tolleson Park for numerous years. He played on a number of softball teams traveling throughout the southeast in tournaments, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved watching college football and was a huge fan of "Roll Tide" Alabama. He loved life and had many friends.
Howard was a member of Smyrna Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Catherine Gunn, sister Carol Denson, brother Toppy Gunn, son in law Don Adams.
Howard is leaving behind his loving wife, Peggy, children, Rebecca Adams, Dotti Geiger (Steve), Sheri Satterfield (Michael) and Howard William Gunn, Jr., Grandchildren Amber Olsen (Jacob), Hollis Satterfield, Christy Cocup (Jay). Great Grandchildren, Claire, Eva and Hannah Cocup. Sisters, Frances Coile, Bonnie Tucker and Cathy Peppers. Brothers, Randy and David Gunn, and a host of nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his beloved cat, "Molly." A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, April 14, 2023 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with Rev. Cecil Dutton officiating. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain for their compassion and care.
