

James “Jim” Jones, age 82 of Loganville, entered into rest on January 5, 2026, at The Landing of Winder, after a brief battle with dementia. He was the son of J. Freeman Jones and Fay Bullock Jones of Marietta.
Jim was born on September 7, 1943, in Atlanta and spent much of his childhood growing up on a farm in Sprague, Alabama. He often reminisced about his childhood on the farm and his beloved horse, Dan. Jim’s family moved back to Marietta when he was a teenager and after attending McEachern High School, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began working for Life of Georgia Insurance Company. He went on to have a career in sales, working for various companies including Dolly Madison Cakes, Lorrillard Tobacco and American Greetings before obtaining his CDL and following his dream of truck driving for Brad Ragan Tire Company.
Jim will always be remembered for the unwavering love and support he provided to his family and will be truly missed.
Jim is survived by his children Tara (Rick) Griffin of Dallas, Georgia, Tina (Danny) King of Winder, Georgia, Tracey (Sean) Kelley of Alcoa, Tennessee, Jimmy Jones, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, sister Anjel (Doug) Miesse of Midwest City, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth, and son, Phillip Ingram.
A visitation will be held at Carmichael Funeral Home – Marietta, on Monday, January 12 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
